I had an old call of my grandads made of a turkey wing. It had the smaller bone inserted into the bigger one and sealed with bees wax. I know he used it but when I got it I tried and the noise i made with it sure didnt sound like a hen calling a longbeard. LOL

One of the first turkey calls was made from the wing bones of a hen turkey.

I have made a couple and have a nice one my son gave me for Christmas. It has two wing bones with a drilled out piece of deer antler for the bell end.

The call is sucked to get a yelp. I can get a yelp some times but most of the time they sound l nothing like a turkey. I keep mine on the shelf with a few collectible calls so i don't take them to the woods and scare the heck out of a turkey.

You have to make sure you have all of the marrow cleaned out of the bones before you suck on them. I didn't and sucked a piece of marrow into my lung. It took a long time for the irritating tickle to go away.

One might work Two is better and Three is the best.

The two in the middle segment of the wing will work. If you use the bone from the segmet next to the body along with the other two it gives a more true yelp.

Wing bones from a hen are the best.

You can yelp pretty good with one of those red swizzle (stirring)sticks that come in a drink at the local bar.

Get on ebay and do a search for wing bone turkey call on the home page search engine. You will come up with listings with pictures of plenty of calls to show you what they look like.
