I have 2 loads for my A-Bolt 300WSM. The 1st is a 180 grn Sierra Gameking over 63 grn of H4350 the 2nd is a 165 grn Gameking and 64 grn of H4350. My plan is to use the 180 grn on a black bear hunt next fall. Hodgdon 4350 seems to have a strong following with 180 & 165 grn bullets in the 300wsm. I would use some 165's on deer but I have so much ammo for my several 308's that I should use up.

I have tested 13 different powders comparing accuracy and velocity with 150 gr Hornady in my Tikka T3 300WSM. My best velocity and accuracy came from 75 gr H4831sc. It chrono's at 3170 fps and groups less than an inch. H4831sc seems to be the best all around powder for the different bullet weights in my rifle.

Pet .300 WSM Load

I have had SUPER luck with the top load in the Accurate Powder data for MAGPRO with the new 180 grain Nosler Accubond. So far have shot two large black bear and two big mule deer bucks with this load, short shot was 12 yards long shot 286 it's the hammer for sure. Shoots into the .5-.75 MOA in both a LW T-3 and a Standard SS/Syn T-3 and in a Kimber 8400. Out chronographs by almost 100 fps the top loads in other powders too, try it you'll like it!

I use VV 560 in my 300 WSM with the 168 Hornady and the 180 Sierra Game King. The 168 delivers 3200 + fps at about .25 inches while the 180 runs just over 3000 + fps at .70 inches. My next bullet will be the 165 Hornady which the 168 load should do nicely with.
