Skinny
By birthright I mean as God's chosen people. That actually happened after the Jews rejected Christ and had him killed. In fact I think it says somewhere in the bible about the stiff necked heirarchy rejecting the truth of Christ. The birthright of being God's chosen people was taken from them after the death of Christ. Before that point the Jews were the ones that benefitted from God's word and from the teachings of Christ. It was foretold that a saviour would come to God's people. After Christ's death the lessons and teachings of Christ were spread among all people who would listen and believe. It wasn't Christianity before Christ's death...it was an extension of the Jewish teachings and religion.. I guess what I am trying to say is that prior to his death the word of God and Christ were all a Jewish thing. Of course anyone was welcome to believe..but if they were converted, it was to Judaism not Christianity. Christianity actually started after the death of Christ When the word was preached to all who would listen So as to a date approximately 33-35 CE or AD

I had no intention to side-track this thread into religion but...
Thanks skeet. I'm not trying to argue but this is my take on things. I was under the impression that not all Jews rejected him so the birthright wouldn't have been given up by all. As to it being taken from them, am also under the impression there is a remnant of God's people still left. Christ first came to save the Jews that were to be called to him and then the Gentiles. Just as he taught the Samaritan woman at the well, there was room for Gentiles in his message while he was alive. But he did want the Jews to hear the Word first before spreading it to non-Jews. I had not heard it put that way that Christ made converts to Judaism. Can you tell me where I might find info on that part? I was taught that the old ways or law (old promise) was to be bypassed by the "new promise". He scorned what Judaism had been turned into by the Sanhedrin, Pharisees, etc. who were followers of the law. The term Christian took off after Christ's death and was given by the Greeks or Romans. I will go out on a limb and say his followers were just that when Christ started his ministry on earth. Not just after his death. If you need to, feel free to email or PM. I know that religion has the potential to be inflammatory as a topic and is just before politics but after Liberals on the temperature scale.

why different? A couple of things come to mind
GOP does not have a dedicated attack and defend department. When a DhimiCrat gets into trouble, the party defends him. If a GOP gets into trouble, its most likely that the info was searched for, and distributed by the Liberal attack machine. Funny, that these sorts of things alway come out when a prominent DhimmiCrat is in trouble. This time it is Hillary with her illegal campaign contributions. Boy, that issues went on the back burner quickly, didn't it?

There was a subliminal mention of Hilliays campaign contributions from China on the news and how quickly she gave the money to charities, which will probably donate right back to her.
What a bunch of BS. Of course she'll forget where it came from. Or the paper trail will come up missing. She is Leona Helmsley re-incarnated. The "little people" can't do what I can get by with. Bill |

Here is a point I have not seen expressed thus far in this discussion. Sen. Craig is an avowed opponent of gay rights, yet pled guilty to lewd behavior in a public mens room, which in my understanding of the justice system means you are guilty. The fact that a man who rails against a certain behavior in public, then does that same thing in private, that troubles me. Just like Rosie O'Donnell having armed security but no other people have a right to protect themselves. You may not like Bill Clinton, but he sure is not gay.

I've not read all of this thread but Republicans seem to eat their own when they get into trouble... which I happen to agree with. A bad republican is a cancer on the party.. and true, we don't have a media bulwark like the Demoncrats do...
