Reach for the gun before you reach for the phone
This article is a prime example why you should reach for a gun before you reach for the phone to dial 911. It is utterly amazing. I would be devastated.

As a CCW holder....then call your LAWYER and let him explain what you did and why! Odds are you are going to be in court...
criminal or civil. Least ways, this was what I was tought... Dan

I think it's abit more than coincidence, that there's a breakin with a woman shot to death almost immediately with the dispatcher on the phone (meaning they specifically came after the woman, they knew she was there) then all of a sudden the husband shows up asking about her.
he claims she just called him..but we know she didnt call him _after_ the attack, and if someone is breaking in, you don't stop to call your relitives before calling the police. once is chance, twice is unusual, but three coincidences in a row? thats not chance, thats deliberate. Sure it's _possible_ it could happen that way, but it's also possible I could win the lottery tomorrow..not very damn likely though. Presume he's innocent, but I'd be checking out everything there is about him. |

At first, I thought it might have been the husband, but then thought better of it. How stupid would the LEO's have to be not to check the call records from the telephones to see if his story was correct. What if she was on the phone with him, she heard people trying to break in, he told her to call the police, and then she got shot. Witnesses saw 2 men running from the house. Don't you think they would have been able to identify the husband that arrived on the scene a couple of minutes later? Wouldn't you think there was powder residue on the husband after he shot his wife?
Is there more to the story that I am missing because I don't live in California? What are the three coincidences?

If someone enters looking for loot, my first call will be the Coroner.

General Assembly just passed a law here this year forbidin such lawsuits. I would start writin your state gummit. If I find myself in that lady's situation, I'm gonna start shootin and THEN call somebody. That's just pitiful. I'm gonna go all National Geographic on ya'll here...but I got me a theory that the human race is losin the survival instinct. ![]()

I love the laws here in Utah.
If someone breaks into your house, and you feel you are threatened, you can shoot without fear of lawsuit or prosecution. Happened recently in South Salt Lake. Guy breaks into a house, and starts assaulting a woman. BF retrieves gun, shoots intruder. Intruder folds up in the driveway across the street. Police praise the BF for doing a good job. They plan to charge the intruder as soon as he gets out of the hospital. |

Thank God for a more progressive legislature and a gov like Jeb Bush here in Florida. No suits, no arrest, just a funeral for a scum bum.
