I'm freaking jealous already. As soon as we buy a single family home I am going to have to find me some prime duck hunting land to buy. Make sure you post pics of the finished product and the results from hunting season.

yepp.. theres going to be a boat blind on the front of it yet. and the actuall blind will be divided in half. the front half will be were the shooting holes are and the back half will be cooking. and im going to try to stay out there a few nights, so im going to try to have some kind of bed. but i dont know? we will see. and theres going to be a bathroom on the back half on the down stream side of the blind(which is the right side looking at it).

I'm jealous too. Already building and in Iowa at that! We draw for public blinds (yeah, right) on this Saturday (8/01/09) but even if we get one, we just don't hold the birds like we used to. Most of our big farms along the waterways have been sold to the real estate carpetbaggers. No food, no ducks, that simple. Best of luck this year...ducks and deer.

How the heck do you shoot out of that thing? Are there "windows" that open up, or are you going to cut holes in it?

That is sweet. I think I figured it out now. There are either hinges or holes in the top to shoot out of. FYI - that thing looks big enough to have a party in it. You can be rotating hunters in and out of shooting spots all day long. I'm jealous.

yeah we have hollow doors that were going to use for shooting holes, and put them on hinges but now I am thinking that once we start brushing it I am going to just use the brush and make holes because we don't need the front part to be sealed tight. And, the idea of rotating hunters is a good idea, BUT, we need ducks to be able to do that. So I didnt really think about rotating hunters.lol
