Low number 1903 for $1,850.00

I was in a gun shop today and saw a Rock Island 1903 in the 257,000 serial number range. The rifle was in excellent condition and all original. The hang tag price of $1,850.00 surprised me. I suspect that rifle will be there for a long, long time.

A few months ago, I bought a high number Rock Island 1903 in excellent condition for $500.00. Guess it pays to shop around. Take care...

I see military rifles going for very high prices. At the last gun show in March, a guy had an NRA GOOD Italian 6.5mm Carbine for $900.00. It was labeled as an "Alpina Stalking Carbine."I passed on that GEM.

Let the buyer beware

It depends what folks want to acquire and are willing to spend. I visit several gun shops and have seen many overpriced surplus arms get their prices reduced and still sit on the racks. All the best...
