Talking I'm gonna move in 'bout six months!

With infinite wisdom, the Army will send my GS butt to Kentucky when I graduate, is it woo-hoo, or, boo-hoo? We will see. But graduation is way off (June).

Fellow hunters, lemmie know (can someone find me PRICES for nonresident hunting looked for 2 hours last night, bubkus!).

Let me pump my ego to y'all.

I have been complaining about my life's standards, and crummy jobs for quite some time now. Some of you may remember waaaaay back when I worked in the Nurnberg factory in Germany, then me bouncin' back and forth between Europe and Oklahoma (Yeah!).

Then I got my foot in the government door with the PX, then DeCA (commissary), then Dept. of Navy, and finally (read below);

I am currently an Army Civilian Intern, in the Ammunition Managers Logistics, Career Program course, at the Defense Ammunition Center here in McAlester, Oklahoma.

If it is a bullet, bomb, grenade, artillery round, missile, rocket, gunpowder, or anything do do with that stuff, I will (soon) know all the aspects from it's need, use, storage, purchase, safety, trasnportation and all US laws for every stinking bit of it.

If I don't screw up, at the end of this year, I will become an active apprentice in an Army Ammunition DEPOT as a GS-9 (I am now a GS-7). And if I don't drop the ball there(that means screw up), after one year of OJT (on the job training) I get GS-11.

And yesterday, I learned I am going to the Bluegrass Army Depot, at Richmond Kentucky.

I am feeling pretty danged good about my self lately!

All I know about Kentucky is that it the only place where bourbon whiskey can legally be made - and it is made in dry counties!

I told you at the beginning of your trials and tribulations that it would work itself out if you persisted. A good man will always rise among inferior peers.

You just proved it again.

Jon, congraulations. You`ll only be a couple 100 miles for me and after many years of reading your post maybe I`ll get to meet you. I once went clear to Idaho to meet Rocky, and hunt coyotes.

Jon,

We all have to pay our dues. I had some real sucky jobs for a long time then things started working out. Been that way for me for a while now. Way to go. You'll like Kentucky.

I think you'll like Kentucky, most of the outdoor people I've met from there are laid back, straight shooting sort of people. If you are offered young woodchuck done on a Weber grill itis excellent table fare.

Jon

All the best to you in your future endeavors. Once you get settled, look around for some decent gun shops. All the best...
