the rifle that made me

this is the rifle that made me what i am today. a smallbore big game hunter.
ive owned bigger rifles 300wins 270wsm lots of 3006's but this is the one that has stuck. this 2506 has been with me for 10 years. can you believe that.

not as pretty as shes used to be but still getn the job done. shes takeing lots of idaho mule deer and an uncountalbe number coyotes and small critters.

ive also gorwn with this rifle. when i started brewing loads i was all into the 75gr vmaxes and fast i could push them and keep the primers ancored in the primer pockets. now im all about 115gr bullets as acurate as i can push them speed doesnt mean much anymore as the 115 nosler bts and vlds are shooting flatter and bucking the wind much better then the lighter bullets

anyways heres the pic

this is 115vld, thats 165 308 triple shock in the pic for size comparison.

but yeah this rifle made who i am its the rifle that taught me how to shoot.

ohhhh check this out
this is me putn a few rds of 115triple shocks down range checkn the poi compared to 110 acubonds.

No doubt that one fine round. I prefer the the .257 AI. which pushes the same bullets at about the same velocities. Try the 87 gr. Sierra bullets for varmints. It shoots flater and bucks the wind better than the 75 gr. HP`s.

cat the 257 has also intrigued me. i love the 25s in all flavours.

im stuck on the heavies they fly flatter and buck the wind better then all the liteweights and hit harder out farther.

i varmit and deer hunt with 115s same load for everything. though i do have a few 110 acubonds left from a few years back and 115 triple shocks for elk. 115 bergers are like slinging 200gr 308 pills down range but with a fraction of the recoil
