Welcome to the board.
Stuff like that happens. Last season, I missed two easy shots with my rifle on a deer at less than 100 yards only to kill two deer later that day at 250 yards after I ran 150+ yards to get into position before they were able to run over a hill and entirely out of range. The bad days is why it is called hunting and not killing.
