Why do we say SOY milk?
I was pondering the fact that the food market is kinda pro tree hugger. I was watching a documentary over tofu and soy milk, and it was as terriable as you would imagine.
When it showed the making of the 'milk' it was a simple process, and I learned it is mere bean juice, I expected a bit more with the 'milk' lable. The tofu was a byproduct of the same process, making a soy sponge. The Chinese here call it bean curd...............rymes with crud. My daughter wanted to experiment with the veggy side, although she is quite the little carnivore. But I got some cheap 'soy milk' and tofu ( x2) and I even sampled it.........YUCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!! It was actually WORSE than I imagined, and boy do I have an imagination! That was "Pure-Evil" in liquid and sponge form. And it valdidated my theory, I from this day foreward will call it by their correct names: Soy -milk- shall be called truthfully: "Bean Juice" for viggen geeks. Tofu, shall be "Flavorless Sponge like blob"(I would say Sponge Blob but am worried about lawsuits): for tree huggers who won't eat meat but have to pretend for some reason to have a main course. What really makes me angry, my daughter said she likes that crap But it's her 13th birthday, she'll grow out of that next time I grill some steaks, and I feel that will be soon.
