the military and law enforcement demand for the .223 & .308 is certainly a key factor involving the price/availability. i read that recently (i cannot recall where, though)

i also have a feeling that the UN is pushing to eliminate the usage of all military caliber small arms ammo from private usage and we know there are those leaders here that want us to cater to the UN. the UN is NOT a favorable institution for the private gun owners of the world. they are in fact, anti-gun when it come to private ownership and have so stated.

california is trying to outlaw the use of lead ammo in the california condors range and possibly state wide.

there's great concern from those of us that reside here in the state of kaliphornia about hunting/gun rights in this state. we feel the state legislature does NOT have the interest of hunting/gun rights in mind. i would say they are in fact anti-gun/anti-hunting.
