moisin carbine info

i have a mosin carbine with the markings of 1936r, 1891/59 on the receiver, with numerous other markings on the bottom of the receiver and the underside of the barrel.

barrel length is 19" and is the standard military barrel in 7.62x54r as far as i know with the ladder style rear sight and hooded front post style front sight.

is this a decent rifle to 'sporterize'?

i've never shot it and am wondering if it would be worth putting into one of the composite stocks and possibly installing a 'scope...
