20 Gauge Waterfowl

I am thinking about waterfowl hunting (duck,goose) with my Remington 870 20 gauge. I have it set up with a pattern master long range choke, and I plan on using hevi shot ammo.

What are your thoughts on using a 20 gauge for waterfowl? I don't have access to any other firearm at this time.
