Big Vanes v Little Vanes

The craze today seem to be Blaser or some variation of it. Anybody know if its real or not. My hunting partner is anal about the short vanes. Sez its stabilizes the arror better. I shoot 4" vanes and usually out shoot him. I do not know whether its worth changing or not.
