I've figured it out!
So with this latest itch to buy a new rifle, rather than get one that I probably won't use much for hunting due to it's large chambering I think I've finally figured it out.
I'm thinking a stainless/synthetic bolt action rifle. One that I will choose over my Model 70 Featherweight in .270win with blued barrel and wood stock. The reason I chose this is for hunting in really wet conditions like when it's raining snowing. I will also use this on my black bear hunts where durability in a rifle is important. Since it wil be used on my black bear hunts where the terrain gets ugly as well as VERY thick I'm gonna get a shorter, more compact rifle. This means a short action round. So here is what I've got so far... Stainless/synthetic for nasty weather. Shorter than my current for heavy cover. First thing that popped into my head is a .308win Probably another Winchester rifle topped with a 4x leupold(in stainless finish). I am open to suggestions. |
