Exclamation Skinny's "Bug Out Bag" revisited....

Way back when, our fearless Skinny Shooter posed a question about Bug Out Bags and what you would have in them. You know, the stuff you would want to have if you had to bail at nearly a moments notice if the proverbial "caca hit the fan". In light of recent events, specifically Huricane Katrina, I thought this subject worth revisiting. It is quite obvious to me that many don't give a rat's ass about the subject and got caught with their pants down and some even payed the ultimate price. It's also obvious that our Government doesn't have the capacity to do s**t for us during and sometime after a serious or catastrophic event.

Now, with hindsight, what will you be doing about self sufficiency, what will you store, how will you store it? In short, I will improve upon a backpack type storage containing the necessary items for a week or more survival if I am forced to leave my residence. I will also improve upon and increase the size of a storage system allowing me to survive in, outside of, or on top of my home should I be cut off from the rest of the world.

I would love to see an exchange of ideas on the subject.
