Interesting wolverine story.
I was hunting with a friend last week and he related a story about a workmate. This fellow was a trapper in his younger years and had a problem with wolverines stealing animals from his traps. They are nearly impossible to trap, but another old trapper told him how to make a trap without metal to catch the bugger.
When he went to check his traps he had caught the wolverine, but it was still alive. He shot it 3 times in the head with a .22, and it got so mad it broke the snare. He managed to shoot it 4 more times before it decided to eat him. It attacked and got hold of his forearm and clawed at his gut with its rear feet like a cat. He fell on the brute and pinned it with his arm stlill in its yap. With his free hand he got out his jackknife, opened it with one hand and stabbed it repeatedly until it was dead. He almost bled to death on the long walk out. He spent a few months in hospital recovering from his wounds. Tough buggers, both of them!
