Wyoming Pheasant Hunts

I went out pheasant hunting here in Wyoming on Wednesday and Thursday, just me and the dogs. On Wednesday as I pulled up to the "Walk in area" I seen a rooster run into some cover from the road, so I thought to my self, Well this might not be to bad a day. Anyway I got ready and fixed the dog up and we started out. We walked towards where I had last seen the rooster. We walked the area for about 15 mintues and were coming up with nothing. The dog kept heading away from where we had seen him and me having a more superior nose and a higher intellect than my dog decided we needed to hunt where I had last seen him. Well like I said after about 15 minutes I decided to follow the dog. 30 minutes later and three beautiful points, I had my limit of three. One of these days I'm going to realize that I need to trust my dog. Anyway I didn't want to qiut just yet so I put away the gun and picked up the camera. Now I'm not promising any thing, because like Icequeen mentioned in one of her posts, I'm having problems with my digital camera and had to use a little cheap point and shoot, so I'll get the pics put on a cd and hopefully they will turn out and I can post them on here.
Thursday I headed out to a different "Walk in Area". I got to my favorite spot which had just been vacated by another hunter. (I got there late)anyway I didn't know whether he had got any or not so I started out with the dogs hunting into a crossing wind. After about 30 mintues of hunting my dog goes on point and my son's dog does a beautiful back and honor job. I didn't have my camera so I didn't get a pic of this, but I wish that I had, because the first two birds would have made great pics of both dogs working together. It took me three hours of hunting to fill and probably two miles of walking but I finally got my three birds. It was a good day. Life is good.
