Rem 597
Over the years I've shot many (and owned some of them) types of 22 semi-auto rifles. Couldn't do without a Ruger 10/22 but I'm really impressed with the Remington Model 597. It is a real tack-driver with Winchester DynaPoints at 50-yards and I like the way the synthetic stock feels in my hands.
A friend of mine can do miracles with a 10/22 trigger but I've never messed with the trigger on the 597. It has a very hard pull (read lawyer-trigger) and not conducive to shooting accurately from any place besides the bench. I've heard of some guy in the midwest who can tune them for you but have lost the information. Anyone else have an opinion on the 597 and have you ever tried any trigger adjustments yourself? 270man |
