Ok, I've been contemplating this for awhile but keep putting it on the backburner due to work.
Am looking to purchase a Remmy VSSF-II in 22-250 or a VLS in 243Win. Anyone shooting one of those models? Currently I have a VLS 308, VS 22-250 and a SA XD 45GAP that I'm looking to sell. Also have a VSF in 308Win which is my Homeland Security rifle. The 22-250 is still shooting good but I'd like to upgrade to the VSSF-II in stainless with the new stock. Had thought about rebarreling the VLS to a fast twist 243 but $1200.00 to do that is out of the question right now. In my locale, the 22-250 is an excellent all-around cartridge. But, I don't need 2 - 308 Winchesters and would like to shoot long with the 243 and heavy bullets. So it's a tough choice right now as to which caliber to buy first. If the VSSF-II came in 243 I'd do that first in a heartbeat. Decisions, decisions... And these are the only guns I'm seriously considering as of now. ![]() Maybe I should just buy both... I did check out the Savage Model 12 Varminter Low-Profile. That is one sweeeet rifle but it doesn't have a drop-down floorplate. I don't like the idea of cycling rounds thru the chamber to unload the gun for transport. Oh, how about I throw all those ideas away and buy a new Kimber Warrior Gov't Model. Now that's a man's gun... ![]() ![]()
