The Matches have begun

Matches involving surplus arms are getting underway. These are usually National Rifle Association (NRA) approved tournaments or Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) sanctioned matches. I am working with a fellow that tricked out his M1 Garand and cannot use it in some of these matches. The stock was glass bedded and is not permitted. He has another stock on order and I will install it so he can shoot the CMP course next weekend.

If you have not fired these matches, I would encourage you to check them out. Many local gun clubs hold National Match Course rifle events that are very cheap to shoot and you may qualify to purchase surplus arms from the CMP. In addition, they are a lot of fun and great practice. All the best...
