I had no intention to side-track this thread into religion but...

Thanks skeet. I'm not trying to argue but this is my take on things.
I was under the impression that not all Jews rejected him so the birthright wouldn't have been given up by all. As to it being taken from them, am also under the impression there is a remnant of God's people still left. Christ first came to save the Jews that were to be called to him and then the Gentiles. Just as he taught the Samaritan woman at the well, there was room for Gentiles in his message while he was alive. But he did want the Jews to hear the Word first before spreading it to non-Jews.
I had not heard it put that way that Christ made converts to Judaism. Can you tell me where I might find info on that part?
I was taught that the old ways or law (old promise) was to be bypassed by the "new promise".
He scorned what Judaism had been turned into by the Sanhedrin, Pharisees, etc. who were followers of the law.
The term Christian took off after Christ's death and was given by the Greeks or Romans.
I will go out on a limb and say his followers were just that when Christ started his ministry on earth. Not just after his death.
If you need to, feel free to email or PM. I know that religion has the potential to be inflammatory as a topic and is just before politics but after Liberals on the temperature scale.
