Two barrels and one gun....

A while ago I posted about the .50 caliber smooth barrel and .50 rifled barrel for the same T/C Hawken. Well, I have another two-barrel-one-gun combo.

I dug around the heap and came up with a "Toledo" single 12 gauge percussion barrel that fits my .54 T/C Renegade. Yesterday at the bench I worked out loads for the 12 gauge and then put on the .54 barrel to be sure it was set up for the October PA ML deer season.

I have a box of Feltan Bluestreak fiber wads, from the 1960s, that work better than plastic wads in the 12 gauge barrel. Lately, it seems I hunt more with the muzzleloaders than the modern smokeless powder arms. The loyal hound does not care too much what I hunt with so long as she goes afield.
