Mr. 16 gauge,

Excellent thread! Most of the WWI and WWII military rounds are fine deer cartridges and good target loads in good rifles. I like, and reload for, the 6.5 Swedish and 6.5 Jap. The 7mm Mauser is a very good round along with the 7.5 Swiss, 7.65mm, .303 British, 8mm Mauser and the .30-06.

If I could find components, I would like to shoot the 8mm Steyr, 8mm Kropotchak, and 11mm Gras. I have handloaded the 8mm Lebel with mixed results due to the arms chambered for that round. I reload the M1 Carbine which is a kid's plinking load at best, in my opinion.
