Repairs for Odd Shotguns.
It has been, and is a continuing problem getting parts for less than popular brands of shotguns. I had a Franchi Alcione come in for firing pins and a new forend LAST SEPTEMBER. I tried through Carlsons and couldn't get the pins. I was redirected to Mann and Son about a month or so ago. I received the firing pins and was told the forend would be maybe 6 months. Just a few days ago a Stoeger Condor Supreme came in for a firing pin, which actually turned out to be a broken transfer bar to the over barrel. Stoegers "wonderful computer choices" finally broke down and let me speak to a human being. She told me to try Mann and Son. I did and was told by Dustin that he had 3 or 4 of those on order and had been waiting about 3 months. I told him I would make the part out of cold rolled steel instead of the cast iron the part had been made of. I made the part that aafternoon and installed it in the gun. It is back to shooting trap for a 4H member.
What I am saying is that if you buy a "bargain" import, or even a better quality import like the Franchi, you may be out of business for a long time if something breaks. Now that Beretta owns Franchi, future production in the Franchi line may be better serviced. ( I hope).
