converting a T/C rifle

I was going to buy a lyman 54 cal. flint trade rifle, but for about the same amount of money I'm thinking about converting my 50 cal T/C hawken cougar rifle to a flintlock. it's a 190.00 for a GM barrel and 135.00 for an L&R lock. This rifle was a gift from my father-in-law. The barrel has some pitting on the inside and It's never been a real good shooter, Iv'e been wanting to buy another barrel for it and I also want to buy a flintlock rifle. I think this T/C hawken cougar would make a nice lookin flintlock rifle. I was just wondering what your thoughts on this were and Will a T/C flintlock fit on a t/C caplock rifle without any modification? Thanks in advance for all your input.
