The new Eyes

Back in the late 90s I had Lasik surgery in both eyes and had great distance vision but last year was informed that I had developed cataracts as a result of the Lasik surgery. Apparently they have discovered that the laser reshaping of the cornea causes an injury to the eye that Maw Nature does not like and gives you a dose of cataracts in 8-10 years as a return present.

Anyway, we went in and had the lenses replaced in both eyes, the last of the procedures was a week ago on Monday. This week I have been busy looking at things I have not seen in 20 years, like the serrations on the front sight of my handguns. I can actually see the rear sight, front sight and target at the same time, after 20 years.

It is pretty phenomenal what our modern medicine can deliver these days.
