Yard Sale finds last Saturday.
Every Saturday at 0730, I go into town and cruise the streets looking for yard sales. Our nearby town is small with ONE traffic light. Thus, it takes about 30 minutes to check all the sales.
Last Saturday I found a nice flourescent orange-colored backpack for $3.00. I like using a backpack in deer season, but all my current packs were camo. Now I can trek about with hunter orange covering my 6 o'clock. As I was paying for the backpack, the old guy asked if I was interested in any guns. I told him that I was. He brought out a nice single barrel 20 gauge Iver Johnson Bicycle Works shotgun in Very Good+ condition, a .22 semi auto Springfield .22 rifle in VG condition and a VG 8mm Hakim. He opened the bidding at $350 and I did not quibble. For an encore, the old guy tossed in a big wooden box of shells, loading blocks, reloading books and two scales and one Ideal #55 powder measure. Oh, what a Country! Adam
