The "Penny Saver" ad said, "An old army gun."

I like old army guns, so I dialed the number and arranged to swing by and have a look. I am glad I did because there was a Model 1898 .30/40 Krag Rifle "as issued", with the original leather sling, bayonet and 4 boxes of factory ammo for $450.00.

I have a few other 1898 rifles with the tangent rear sights, but this is the only one with the windage adjustable Buffington rear sight. Happily, I just built my shooting bench in the hayfield and will be shooting 375 lasered yards just as soon as the hay is off.

My favorite cast bullet is the Lee C185-RN-.312 sized .309 for my Krags.
