.250 Savage

I always wanted a 250-3000, just never found one when funds permitted. Then on my 50th birthday, the family presented me with a Savage M99R in the fine old round. It was built in 1953, same as me. Very accurate with bullets 87 grains and under, it is one of my favorite guns. Just this last fall my son found a tang safety Ruger 77 in 250, that was nearly 30 years old, but looked nearly new. When I got it home, I found it had a Timney trigger and would shoot nearly any load tried under an inch for 3 shots. Both rifles have taken several deer and the 99 has one coyote to it's credit. Don't ever plan on being without a 250!
