balco = ballistic coeffecient, or how easily does any one bullet design slide through the air.

a-maxes and v-maxes are known to have very good Balcos, so if the load data your reading is shown for, lets says a 55gr softpoint, if it has a worse Balco, then that "could" explain the difference your seeing between paper and real life trajectories.

a good ballistics program for the computer can show it easily, if your using the tables in the Hornady manual, it may be hard to figure for different bullets.

just remember a brick has a lousy Balco, while dart has a good one, comparatively speaking.
