I've had this lack of consistency with a lot of the "premium" bullets. The Swift didn't exit and had little to no expansion. Deformation would be a better term. The bullet was lodged in the far shoulder.

As for the Partitions, my experience is just the opposite. I don't trust them on elk, because I'll have one occasionally grenade on a whitetail out of my 7STW. Below is a pretty graphic link of a 160gr Partition shot on a doe. It was too close for STW velocity.

I read a lot about differing bullets from the gun rags, but actual performance in the field varies. To make matters more complicated the compaines change bullet designs under the same names. The new Ballistic Tips are a lot harder than they used to be and don't vaporize near as easily. I can push the 140gr CT Ballistic Tips through deer at 3400fps and a lot of bullets can't handle that.
