Small Ring and Large Ring Mausers

The best way to determine the difference is to measure the distance between the centers of the triggerguard screw holes.

Small ring measurement is 7 5/8" (7.625") (Mauser 93, 94, 95 and 96)

Large ring measurement is 7 7/8" (7.83") (Model 98)

You could also measure the receiver ring diameter.

Small ring measurement is 1 1/4" (1.3")

Large ring measurement is 1 3/8" (1.4")

This data came from Midway and is used to determine Adams & Bennett barrel specifications. Hope this helps. All the best...
Gil
