frezing traps

im having problems with frezing traps they freze solid

Freezing

You can try either trappers anti-freeze, or you can also put your traps into a ziplock bag and then make your sets. I would experiment with different ziplock bags if you go that route.

If you have those big ant hills skim off the first inch of so. Then take the dirt that is below that. Use it to bed and cover your trap. Put a FINE skim of natural dirt if you think it is necessary.

The ants sort of wax the chewed up vegitation making it impervious to water. I have had 2 inches of rain fall without getting the anthill dirt even damp. Dry dirt can't freeze

cut a square

hello if you have traps that freeze fix it by cuting a peice of insalation into a square and place it under your pan and cover your trap with ant hill dirt works every time

bud the best way to not let traps freeze is a good peice of toilet papper on top of the trap, tuck in and around the trap then apply a layer pf hay or oats of couse cover these with dirt but i promise that the trap will noit freeze
