French MAS 1936

I was in a gun shop and saw an MAS 1936 that appeared to be unissued (maybe it was dropped once) with an original sling. I haggled with the shop owner and got it very cheap. Just wanted it for the military collection. All the best...

Very nice rifle there Gil, actually quite accurate.

Alot of the french firearms were quite good, though little known, comparatively speaking.

One word of warning, it has no manual saftey, the rifle was originally intended to be carried unloaded, and only loaded immediately prior to firing.

the MAS-49, and 49/56 are quite underrated too.

I had a chance to get a set of all three about 2 years ago, but i just couldnt get the money togeather on short notice.
I do know the guy who did get the set though, and they did find a good home

Have one, nice shooter. Most look un-used, surrendering at the first sign of trouble will do that.

Gil,

Did you get any ammo with that M36? Does the shop have any more such arms for sale? If so, obtain one more and I will add it to my collection.

I just arranged for adoption of a pair of horses from the SPCA in Wellsboro. Bring the M36s and we will do a Chaussier patrol of the Water Company woods, eh, wot? And that is NOT chamber loaded on the MAS arms whilst on patrol! Giddy up....

I will look over the shop this weekend. The guy has everything in military and sporting arms. He is a shooter and just returned from Camp Perry where he finished 25th out of 1300 shooters. Best of all he is a great guy and my friend. He gives me deals that are unheard of these days. All the best...

I got the only MAS 1936 in the shop and they have a lot of 7.5x54mm ammo. All the best...

Gil,

Trot back to that shop and get me a MAS 1936, for cheap, and 200 rounds of ammo. You know I have a birthday coming up soon and an appropriate gift is required. Tell the shop guy to order more of them guns in, eh, wot?
