body grip traps?

hey, i am new to trapping and i was wondering how exactly body grip traps work. Can you use them the same way you use foot hold traps? For instance could I hang a bait over a body grip trap as I would a foothold trap. How exactly are they set off? Some pictures of sets would be nice. Thank you.

Here is a site with lots of good information for newbys.
http://www.trapperman.com/
You'd want to put your bait so that the critter would pass through the trap to get the bait.
Check out the muskrat cubby set. You want to think of the trap as a guard. Its guarding your bait.
You can use body gripping traps without bait by setting them in trails. there are a couple of examples at trapperman.

Check out "basic sets at the bottom of the page

good luck

One thing to remember when using connibear traps.

What goes in alive comes out dead. Extreme care must be taken when setting them where a non target critter that you do not want dead can get into them.

Most states have regulations on them as to what size and how a connibear can be set on dry land.
