bird trap

what is the best home made pigion trap any idea's
any help would be grate

size of trap, doors, how tall , wood, wire, on ground or off
so on thanks ......

The simplest one I've heard of is just a chicken wire cage about 3' by 3' with a plywood bottom and a 3'X3' woven wire ,4" by 4" , top. Its about 18" high.
Theory is the birds can go in the trap for bait but cannot fly out.

Dad used to fly homing pigeons. He had a return trap much like noted above. The door was a series of rigid horizontally oriented wires that were suspended on a metal rod. They opened in but not out. Keep them light so a pigeon can walk thru them. Bait the trap with wheat, etc. and place where they are feeding or close to their roost..
