Gil,

Back in 1961 right after I got my driver's license, I drove to a nearby antique shop. The old lady running the shop had antiques and about two dozen long arms for sale. About half the guns had a blue yarn thread tied around the barrel behind the front sights. The old lady said the blue yard designated guns suitable for deer hunting per her arms consultant.

One of the "blue yarn specials" was a LIVE German MP-44 7.92x33mm Assault Rifle for $50.00. The old lady said she would sell the gun to me. I had a dollar to get my 49 Chevy home and $50.00 was FAR beyond my reach.

I know you remember Gil because you were there.

Adam
