.350 Remington or 6.5x55 in a 20in barrel????
Odd question, but just stick to the perameters-----
If you had a 20" barreled rifle and could only have it in 2 calibers (.350 Remington Mag or 6.5x55 Swede) which would you take and why? I have lots of guns, but need to get rid of one. Which is it????????

Not an opinion, a fact. I own both in the same configuration as your question. The custom 350 is on its way to a gun show next weekend where I have tables. I own several 6.5x55 guns but one 350 and the 350 is still gone. The 350 is a great deer and up cartridge, the equal to the 35 Whalen. In a long action with big bullets it is an excellent, accurate cartridge. The 6.5x55 is more versitile than the 350.
I have more guns than safes space and am trying to reduce my overflow. With 3 safes I am not willing to buy more. ![]() Ed

I'd go with the 6.5x55 too. Just fits more hunting situations in the states than the .350 JMHO

"which would you take and why?....."
To be able to answer that question, you'll have to tell us what you plan to hunt and where.

I have no planned hunts and rifles to cover beneath and below each.
Just need to get rid of one and need help deciding.

well they are both good guns but it would depends on.....
do you have more than one of either caliber? if not, and you only have one of each, myself i'd probably keep the 6.5x55 as mentioend above, it's alot more versitile. not demeaning the .350 in anyway, just my opinion |

I'm a big fan of the 6-1/2 Swede. It's very accurate, versitile and has light recoil. Its a great round for you, your wife or the kids. Can't say the same for the 350 RM.
Up close the 350 may knock-down bigger game, but the Swede will reach way, way further. I believe either will perform well with a 20" barrel. Go Swede.

Why the 350 Mag??
This is a cartridge cooked up to sell more guns. A lot of flash and bang. The 6,6X55 rules.

6.5 VS 350 Rem mag
I don't own either one but I'd go with the 6.5 Swede as it's more versatile. However If I owned both and were huntin in Grizland I Damed well sure'd rather carry the 350!!!
