christmas with guns

just ran to the place "up north" yesterday to do some winterizing before it was too late. Pulled in the driveway and had a longbeard fly outta the big tree overhead and fly off. Drove back home today to get the leaves raked etc before the deer opener.

Saw a lot of deer (mostly does) on the way up plus about 50 turkeys yarded up (my tag is for 10/08/07 - 11/14/07 ) so maybe I'll have to do some dual scouting/birding next week.

Found out the hard way last year that the state land around me is FULL of local yahoos so the actual deer season is a longshot for me. I'm just trying to tag one to make into jery for the troops again this year. Plan to take my chances and look for a new spot this year that doesnt have an orange coat behind every tree. Yeah, I know.....good luck on that
