Another Garand?
I need to say, the Garand is one of my favorite historically signifigant rifles. At the monthly gun club meeting last Monday night I got elected to the Board of Directors and after the meeting met my latest Garand.
An old WWII veteran had a Springfield M1 Garand that he wanted to go to a good home. It is now on establishment and is a good shooter. As president of my county historical society for my 4th year, I am pleased to say this Garand will go on display, with proper accoutrements, upon my demise, in our local historical museum. Adam

Good catch
In the vault at the local gun club, I have a number of CMP M1 Garands. One is an early Springfield with a serial number below 25,000. It had the early gas trap system and was arsenal reconditioned at some point and is in mint condition. Another is a mint International Harvester. When I complete my service running the NMC matches, they will come home with me. All the best...

Gil,
I agree, they are historically significant Garands. After they "come home with you" where will they end up? I never saw a hearse with a full luggage rack, so we need to dispose of stuff before they "close the lid." Adam
