I had always had a negative opinion of Savage as well - thought they were cheap junk.
A couple years ago when looking for a new rifle I did some reading and decided to try one, 243. Well, my opinion of Savage has changed 100%. Now, it would be the first manufacturer I consider. My 243 is freaky accurate and the trigger is crisp, light and easily adjustable.
