Sign of the times

A friend of mine has several mint military rifles and is facing hard economic times. He asked if I wanted to buy some of them. They include a like new M1 Carbine, and M1A and a VZ-24. I told him I could help him out and would pay as much or more than a gun shop. I do not plan to sell them, but will hold them until he can buy them back. All the best...

Gil,

I will volunteer to provide protective custody for that M1A. We have high power rifle matches and that M1A will see the light of day. I know how to clean a bore and the rifle will return better that many "Vault Queens" that merely age as time goes by.

I bid for the M1A. I will toss in a M1924 action and M1903 stock as "lender's premium."

As noted in my post, these rifles are not for sale. A new M1A heavy barrel match is only about $2,200.00. All the best...

Gil,

You did not say the M1A was a heavy barrel match in your initial post. Apparently the guy is not a match shooter. Also, the rifle needs to perform on the range to justify that $2,200.00 price. They make "Lemons" and the proof is on the firing line before specie changes hands. Not all "Match Rifles" are Match Rifles.

He is a match shooter and does very well at the range. I can assure you the M1A is not a lemon. All the best...
