Fn 1949

I saw an 8mm Mauser FN 1949 in NRA very good condition in a gun shop today for $725.00. I did not know my rifles were worth so much. It is good to assess the market from time to time to see what things are worth. Take care...
Joe.

Joe,

Was that 8X57MM M1949 an Egyptian made rifle? My 8mm cost less than $725. I prefer the Columbian .30-06 or Venezulean 7x57 M49s.

Adam

Never had an 1949, but I always wanted one (esp. in 8mm mauser)......couldn't afford one when they first started importing them back in the 80's (I was in college at the time, and usually short of cash). Makes me wish I had bought one way back when.
On a similar note, I bought my 6.5 swede M96 back in the late 80s....guy had a pile of 'em at a gun show for $80 each, your pick. I picked the one with the best looking bore, as I had plans to turn it into a sporter. Seeing what they are asking for some of them now, I kinda wish I had picked up a couple more at that price.

......ah, to have a working crystal ball!

Mr. 16 gauge

I wish I could go back a bunch of years with one paycheck and shop until I dropped. I would buy Lugers, Broomhandles, Krags and Johnson automatics. However, we cannot go back. The best we can do is shop around today and grab any decent deal we come across. I just keep looking.

On a side note, I picked up a used J.C. Higgins 16 gauge bolt action shotgun last week for $79. It was made by H&R with a modified choke and in like new condition. Take care...
Joe
