There ain't any flies on the old .270. I've had one around since about 1973 although I normally don't use on very much. Over the years I've taken two deer and one antelope with the cartridge. One thing I have settled on though is I prefer 150 gr. bullets in my handload to the 130 gr. bullets. I hunt mainly for the meat and the 150's don't mangle up as much good eating meat. My first deer with the .270 was maybe 40 yards away and that 130 gr. bullet blew up like a hand grenade inside the deer. made quite a mess. The second deer was maybe 60 yards with a 150 gr. bullet and the damage was much less.
