Any thing new happening?

No one has been posting in here.....myself included. Was wondering what everyone's been up to. With work over the past few months I haven't had the opportunity to take advantage of the long range summer groundhogging that I normally do. Now most of the fields are high and the shooting sucks.

I've been anxious to shoot farther than 500 yards and have 100 rounds of brand new Lapua brass loaded with 140 bergers just begging to be shot!

OlSpark has gotten into a new sillouette game at the Ridgeway rifle club. It's sort of a mix between benchrest and sillouettes. Crows, Groundhogs, Bobcats, and Coyotes at 850,900,950, and 1000. 10 shots at each range, each knockdown is scored a hit. Most hits wins.... His first go at it and he placed 2nd in his class.

Anyway, would be good to hear what's happening all....

Son and I were out this morning doing a little shooting from 300 to 500 yards. We had gentle breezes of up to about 30 mph. Gusting, not steady. 500 yds. is damned "iffy" in the wind. With the wind, there is no "hitting" at 800 and over, unless you have a silver spoon in your mouth, and are lucky anyway!

I haven't been out to chase the woodchucks at all this year- just one thing and another. Life gets in the way, sometimes. . .

just had the Gibbs setback to clean up the shoulder, as it gets cooler I'll shoot more and more looking for my hunting load this season. wanna give H-1000 a whirl in the gibbs pushing a 140 berger at around 3300.
Got some 200 gr wildcats for the 7mm AM, will try them in front of 103 gr of WC872 and see how they fly.
