				Weaver 40/44 ?

Are the Weaver 40/44 just the old style Simmons AETEC?

And even if it is, with it being under the Weaver name would it be worth trying? The used Weaver CV9 I put on my MR-7 is a wonderful scope, got my first Kentucky deer with it last weekend. As you can see on the rifles forum, I am considering a .223, and it will primarily be a range gun, but used for any chances of coyote hunting. It is by far not my top choice, but the rifle (when I decide which one) will be a lay-away purchase anyway.

I have one of the new Weaver Grand Slam scopes 6-20. Seems to be an ok scope if a little pricey. Don't know about the Weaver 40/44s
