2010 Nebraska Deer Hunt

Wow, what a year it was and what a good time. Over the past 12 years that I have been in the service, me and a good friend of mine have always talked about going back to Nebraska to my home and shooting a big Mule deer for him to put on the wall. 911 happens and the deployments start, and they have yet to stop. We both have PCS'd to different locations. Unfortunately, he gets discharged and medically retired out of the military for numerous back problems. Serveral surgeries and years later, we finally get to do it. I recently moved to Minot ND ( because the Air Force told me I had to ) and am less than half the distance home to Nebraska than I was before. I finally get to hook up with him and another friend of mine who served with me while I was in Florida. We all met up in my hometown and had the best time of our life. I was able to put everyone in the hunting camp on a big deer this year and myself as well. Kyle and Chris are doing full head mounts and I am doing a european mount on mine. There were lots of big deer killed at home this year. I can't wait till next year. Here are the pictures of our deer and some others from home that were killed as well.

In the picture of all three, I am on the left with my 6x5, my buddy in the middle with his 7x5, and my other buddy on the right with his 4x5. The next picture is of my buddy with his 7x5 again and the other is of a deer somebody shot that we saw at the check in station.

Those are all great deer! Congrats on them. Where at in NE are you from? I've hunted around Naper and a little further west. I love it out there. The country is awesome and the deer are giant!

The pictures look awesome on my 26" monitor. What are you apologizing for the picture size for. Awesome pics and it looks like it was an awesome time. I am going to have to go out west some time. Got an invite from my cousin one year to hunt in Minnesota, but that was the year I got sick. Maybe next year, who knows.
