What you said hit a cord with me as I recalled another matter which I think is important in consideration of the forum; some states are now changing their muzzle loading hunting season to "Traditional Firearms" and enacting legislation to allow firearms of a design prior to X date, or reproductions there of, single shot and with an exposed hammer to be used in the, what was previously a muzzle loading only, hunting season. MS is one state that has done this and the muzzle loaders have all but disappeared from the hunting landscape in MS within just a couple of years. What in fact has happened was a new hunting season was born, for single shot cartridge rifles and shotguns.

And another vote for a Single Shot Thread Forum.

I've shot single shots all my life, and there are many more that I've not had the pleasure to shoot as of yet. I think it would be an interesting and informative addition, if Petey has the time and inclination to add it.
