Skeeter, I think that land you see is in the Adirondacks. Very tough winters- the 10th mountain division trains there.
The land there is basically recreational. No services like water and sewer at much of it, and the bedrock is about 2 feet below the surface- nothing you can farm, for sure. If you want a place for a cabin for hunting and fishing, you can find some good buys. Do look at it in person, and make sure it isn't vertical.
